Can’t remember if I sent you a recipe or not. If I did, here is next week’s as I am going to be swamped the rest of the week.
Braised Pork Shoulder Steak
1 lb ½- 1 inch thick pork shoulder steak
2 T. soy sauce
1 T. shortening
1 med. Onion, sliced ¼ inch thick
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
½ cup catsup
1 tsp sugar
¼ tsp pepper
1 T. prepared horseradish
Serves 2-3. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Brush both sides of steak with a tablespoon of soy sauce. Heat in medium sized skillet. Brown steak quickly on both sides. Remove steak and place in casserole slightly larger than steak.
Top steak with onion slices. Mix tomato sauce, catsup, sugar, pepper, horseradish and remaining tablespoon of soy sauce. Pour over meat. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake 1 hour or until fork tender. Remove foil about 15 minutes before the hour is up.
