Recently our church served a funeral dinner for 140 people.  For our meat for the menu we chose Barbequed meatballs.  The people served raved about the meatballs and wanted the recipe. It is easy to half, double, triple, this recipe. However, if you are short of time and live close to a Sam's Club, you can buy meatballs and then make this sauce. That's what we did this time because we were serving so many.  This recipe was from lady who was a school cook for a number of years.

Bar-B-Que Meatballs

1 large can evaporated milk
3 lbs. ground beef
2 c. quick oatmeal
1 egg
1 c. chopped onion (can use dehydrated)
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp chili powder

Mix and shape into balls the size of a walnut or a little larger.
Place in flat pan  in a single layer.

Sauce:

2 c. catsup
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 T. liquid smoke

Mix all together and pour over meatballs.  Bake 1 hour uncovered at 350 degrees.  For half recipe use the small can of evaporated milk.  These freeze well.  They can also be made ahead of time and stored overnight
to bake the next day.
