This weeks recipe comes from my aunt Margie Burdett who lives in Idaho. She says this is a yummy dessert and a family favorite. She says she really likes this juicy so she usually uses the whole can of soda.

Apple Dumpling Bake

2 tubes (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored, (or your choice of apple)
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine (melted)
3/4 cup Mountain Dew soda - have also used 7 up and orange juice
ground cinnamon & nutmeg
vanilla ice cream

Unroll crescent rolls and separate into 16 triangles. Cut each apple into 8 wedges. Wrap crescent dough triangle around each apple wedge, sealing edges. Place in 9 x 13 pan or baking dish. In a bowl, combine sugar and butter, sprinkle over rolls. Slowly pour the soda around the rolls, do not stir. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
